Whilst building with the K-Nex this morning, one of the children in Lions built a wand.

This led the play for the morning session in Lions, groups of children began dressing up as various characters, including a witch. This prompted lots of imaginary play and vocabulary;
"Abracadabra" "I'm going to turn you into a....."
At one point during the morning, I was turned into a snake!!
Play was extended with potion making, which again prompted lots of imagination, the children then shared a story about Winnie the Witch, using the pictures the children helped to tell the story.

The children showed high engagement levels and play greatly supported the children's social and communication skills...
